Small business in electrotechnical industry wins new Government award for outstanding service to apprenticeship development

SJD Associates, a small business which has shown outstanding dedication to addressing the skills shortage in the electrotechnical industry, has won a new award featured in the Department for Education’s National Apprenticeship Awards.
The award was created by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) to celebrate and raise the profile of all the vital work employers now put into designing and updating all apprenticeships.

Major survey shows apprentices happier with SMEs

Apprentices are reporting more positive experiences with small and medium sized employers (SMEs), an influential national survey of apprenticeship experiences has revealed.
The findings are part of a new report setting out the learning and assessment experiences of more than 2,000 apprentices that has been published today.

End-point assessment flexibility for calculated functional skills qualifications

A temporary flexibility was introduced by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) in February 2020 to allow apprentices to take their apprenticeship end-point assessment (EPA) before their FSQ assessment, which must subsequently be completed make a commitment to take their Functional Skills Qualifications within three months of beginning their EPA.
