When we are required to purchase any goods or services, the process will usually be carried out through a Crown Commercial Services (CCS) framework.

The Crown Commercial Service brings together policy, advice and direct buying; providing commercial services to the public sector and saving money for the taxpayer.

CCS is an executive agency, sponsored by the Cabinet Office.

Further details on CCS.

CCS has set up a number of frameworks that we are entitled to use, either through a direct award to one of the suppliers engaged or through further competitive tendering. Using the frameworks enables us to achieve value for money through a streamlined and efficient procurement process.

If CCS frameworks cannot deliver the requirement, we will then consider other options, such as a new procurement.
