The transfer of EQA to Ofqual and the OfS (for integrated degrees) means that there will be changes for EPAOs and existing EQAPs. The Institute, Ofqual and Department for Education continue to work closely through this period to ensure a smooth handover process. Apprentices should not see a change to their EPA experience due to the EQA transition.
Phase one of the transition process which required EPAOs, for apprenticeships previously overseen by IfATE EQA service, to apply for Ofqual recognition has now concluded.
IfATE will provide a temporary, free-of-charge, in-house advice, and quality assurance solution for around 25 apprenticeships that will not transition by the end the May. This will ensure that EPA can continue, and that quality will be maintained.
