The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) has launched a recruitment campaign to attract new people to join its panel of apprentices.

The apprentice panel makes an amazing and important contribution to IfATE’s work, helping to improve the apprentice experience for all apprentices.

Apprentice panel members are enthusiastic ambassadors for apprenticeships and the opportunities they offer. They bring together insights from apprentices from all walks of life, ensuring these are heard and understood by those with the power to change things for the better.

The panel decides which issues to focus on, and panel representatives attend IfATE board meetings to advise and challenge on those issues. They also meet regularly with ministers and other government officials to ensure the apprentice experience is front and centre of new policy thinking.

The panel is chaired by an apprentice panel member and facilitated and supported by IfATE.

Jake Holt, a member of our apprentice panel, said:

I enjoyed being involved in discussions with people at the top of apprenticeships in different subjects and travelling to attend events in London. Networking with others who share the same passion as me was always great too. Having meaningful discussions about what action can be taken to improve certain areas of apprenticeships or giving feedback to teams in IfATE was something I also really enjoyed. I always felt unrestricted to give my opinion and didn’t feel like anything I said would be looked down on. The whole experience exceeded my expectations!

The closing date for applications is midnight on Friday 4 August 2023.

We are committed to eliminating discrimination, valuing diversity and promoting equality of opportunity and we welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.
