- The Institute has launched a consultation on an exciting new Legal T Level
- Experts from a wide range of Awarding Organisations met with the Institute at two different market engagement events to discuss the progress of the wider T Levels project
The Institute for Apprenticeships has launched a consultation on a new Legal T Level.
This will cover draft outline content for the technical qualification, which is part of the legal, finance and accounting industry career occupational route. This means that it sets out in draft form what core and specialist learning will be required for this T Level, which is due to be taught from 2022.
It promises to be an exciting development for the legal world, as the T level will offer a high quality new technical education launch pad route into their profession, designed by industry experts.
Carmel Grant, Deputy Director for Technical Education Implementation said:
A panel of industry experts has developed the draft outline content for this new exciting Legal T Level.
By involving employers throughout the process, the Institute aims to ensure that all T Level content is relevant, engaging and applicable to the world of work. This was our aim with the Legal T Level.
We now welcome views through this consultation from wider stakeholders.
The latest consultation launch comes after the Institute engaged with Awarding Organisations during an event on 16 January and another, regarding consortia, the following day. at the offices of our legal partners, Mills & Reeve.
Both provided a good opportunity for Awarding Organisations to ask questions about the T Levels programme with members of the Insitute, Department for Education and Ofqual.
Ms Grant added: “It was fantastic to hear from a wide range of awarding organisations, who will of course be responsible for developing and delivering the content for the Technical Qualifications.
Feedback for both events was positive and we were glad to give clarity on a wide range of questions.
The consultation can be found on our website and the window for responses will run until 26 February.
