1. One-to-one support sessions

We encourage awarding organisations (AO)s to continue to engage with us for support and guidance leading up to the submission window. Support sessions provide an opportunity to discuss the qualification(s) you intend to develop and submit. We can explain and clarify queries about our approvals process, qualification categories and criteria requirements.

If you did not submit in cycle 1 and are new to the process, please email us to request an initial one-to-one meeting.

2. Level 3 submission documents

Documentation AOs must submit:

  • submission form
  • KSB mapping template
  • qualification structure document

When completing the level 3 spring submission form, please refer to the level 3 criteria and guidance.

Before you start mapping, please read the ‘guide to KSB mapping’ found in the first tab within the mapping sheet.

3. Mapping templates and qualification structure document for level 3 occupational entry qualifications

AOs must complete the mapping templates to demonstrate how their occupational entry qualifications align to the knowledge, skills and behaviours within the occupational standards in scope for the spring submission window.

When completing the KSB mapping templates and qualification structure document, please refer to the level 3 criteria and guidance.

5. Assessment

AOs can refer to the assessment positive indicators document for support when developing qualifications and during the approvals process.

Considering the short timeframe now available for AOs to design and develop SAMs and recognising that AOs had already done substantial work to support submissions prior to the General Election, we are able to consider SAMs that had been developed no longer than 2 years prior to the planned submission window opening on 10th June 2024.  We may, at our discretion, give greater weight to evidence that has been collected or updated more recently. This flexibility in relation to the date by when evidence must have been collected only relates to this 2025 spring submission window.
